Systems Specialist

The Systems Specialist must be thoroughly experienced in the design and support of corporate IT systems infrastructure and administration. Primal Fusion's agile development methodology will give you the freedom, responsibility and autonomy to explore new technologies in developing and supporting our corporate IT systems solutions. You must have a thorough understanding of systems-management best practices, and prior success delivering and managing corporate systems infrastructures. You are constantly learning and looking for ways to improve. You consider yourself technology-agnostic, choosing the best tool for the job, whether it is an open-source or commercial product. A sys admin, you thrive in a small-team start-up environment. Your innovation and creativity means you know that understanding the problem you are solving is as important as the infrastructure you are developing and supporting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and test systems management, and support to meet requirements and timelines.
  • Provide verbal status updates to the Infrastructure team on a daily basis.
  • Provide systems support to internal and external stakeholders and customers as required.
  • Order and deploy desktops, servers and network equipment.
  • Participate in the planning and deployment of OS and productivity software security and patch management.
  • Seek and advocate improvements in Primal Fusion's systems management practices.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in corporate infrastructure systems administration including capacity planning.
  • Solid experience building, deploying, monitoring, supporting, and managing corporate IT resources.
  • Experience with managing a multi-server Windows environment. Experience with VMware and Linux a definite asset.
  • Experience with Active Directory/Windows Domain management. Sharepoint and SQL Server operational database administration an asset.
  • Positive attitude and a results-oriented work ethic.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively using agile development methodologies.
